| The hike from Lake Alpine to highway 88 is in the Carson Iceberg Wilderness. The first part of this route is fairly flat and in the forest. There has been one change that isn't always on maps of this area. The Spicer Meadows Reservoir dam has been enlarged so that the water now rises into Gabbott meadow. This means that the trail has had to be rerouted to higher ground. The climb from what was Gabbott Meadow will soon bring you to this view. Look hard and you might see the orange flowers. |
